From Sketch to Portrait

Every piece starts with simple lines. Just enough to place the eyes and shape the form.
From there, I build slowly.
Layering colors, adding depth, and looking beyond what’s obvious. Finding blues, violets, and warmth in what seems like brown.
At some point, it stops being paint.
It starts feeling like them.
That’s when I know it’s done.
